Film Industry Actors Join Forces in Alliance

Cinéconomie is a new alliance of organisations and associations related to the film industry in Switzerland. It is chaired by FDP Ständerat Matthias Michel and its founding meeting is planned for the autumn. The alliance includes organisations from the hospitality, tourism, event, culture and film industries. The formation of the alliance is in connection with the revised Film Law, known as the "Lex Netflix", which will come into effect in May 2022. This law requires streaming platforms such as Netflix to invest four percent of their revenue generated in Switzerland into the local film industry. Cinéconomie aims to create better investment conditions and increase the attractiveness of Switzerland as a filming and production location.nnnn
