First Confirmed Lynx Reproduction in the Engadin in Nearly 150 Years

A hunter in Zernez GR has provided the first secure evidence of a lynx reproduction in the Engadin region in almost 150 years. On the evening of July 22nd, 2023, the hunter was able to observe and photograph a female lynx accompanied by two cubs while on a wildlife observation mission in the area of the Zernez municipality. This rare sighting was confirmed by the Hunting and Fishing Office of the Canton of Graubünden on Friday. This is the first confirmed evidence of a lynx reproduction in the Engadin region in almost 150 years.nnnn
