Footballer couple Alisha Lehmann (25) and Douglas Luiz (26) were the victims of a burglary in their new home country of Italy.

Jewelry and cash worth more than half a million euros were stolen from the home of the Swiss international and the Brazilian in the city of Turin. This was reported by the Italian media with reference to the police.

The two had only moved together from England to the Italian first division club Juventus Turin in the summer. According to the information, the burglary occurred in one of the better residential areas of the northern Italian city on Saturday evening, when Juventus Turin were playing against Lazio Rome in the men's Serie A.

The unknown perpetrators took several expensive watches, a dozen gold chains set with diamonds and a large sum of euros and British pounds. According to initial investigations, the jewelry was not in a safe, but spread across several drawers. In addition, the alarm system is said to have malfunctioned.

Lehmann has so far made 54 appearances for the Swiss women's national team. In the summer, she and Luiz left their former club Aston Villa for Turin. The Brazilian has played 18 times for his national team.
