For the SVP Switzerland, the No to the BVG reform means that the population "does not want any BVG experiments". The No to the reform is a Yes to the status quo. This decision should be respected - "also and especially by the SP".
The already announced BVG reform plans of the left are "completely irresponsible", writes the SVP in a press release on Sunday. With these plans, "the tried-and-tested three-pillar model of Swiss old-age provision" would be driven to the wall financially.
The social security system must be secured in the long term. Personal occupational benefits should not be touched. According to the SVP, anyone who wants to redistribute the second pillar is "stealing from the personal occupational pension of every Swiss employee".
With the BVG reform, the conservative parties had "stretched out their hand wide" for a balanced reform. It would have benefited around 100,000 employees, who would have been additionally insured. "The supposedly social SP has shown its true colors: it has deliberately allowed this undeniable improvement for employees with lower incomes to fail," the SVP continues.
