Three former employees of the Bassersdorf ZH Traffic Office are suspected of taking bribes. According to a statement from the Zurich Prosecutor's Office, two brothers paid 1500 and 2000 francs respectively to pass their practical driving test. Investigations are ongoing against the three former employees for "taking bribes" and other offenses, and they are presumed innocent until proven guilty. The employees were dismissed in November 2021. In another case, a long-time expert of the vehicle inspection was found to have cheated several vehicles of his colleagues through the test. He was dismissed without notice. The two brothers were sentenced to 100 and 130 days of suspended sentences with fines of 1800 and 2000 francs respectively. Further proceedings are pending against other suspects, including possible intermediaries.
