The Federal Council has elected former Zurich SVP National Councillor Hans-Ueli Vogt to the Board of Directors of the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG). The second representative will be former Zurich government councillor Ursula Gut-Winterberger (FDP).
This was announced by the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC) on Wednesday. Vogt and Gut-Winterberger were elected to the SRG Board of Directors on behalf of the Confederation for the term of office from the beginning of 2024 to the end of 2027.
The SRG Assembly of Delegates will elect three members of the Board of Directors, including the Chairman, on December 1, 2023. The presidents of the four SRG regional companies are ex officio members of the Board of Directors and are elected by the respective regional councils. Two members of the SRG Board of Directors will be appointed by the Federal Council.
Former Zurich FDP government councillor Gut-Winterberger is taking up her third term of office as a member of the SRG Board of Directors. The Federal Council elected her for the first time in fall 2015. This will be the first term of office for former SVP National Councillor and Federal Council candidate Hans-Ueli Vogt. Vogt replaces Marc Furrer, who is stepping down at the end of the current term of office.
