Retour au fil d'actualité

Friendship is taken very seriously in Switzerland, according to a study conducted by the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute (GDI). Swiss people are often hesitant to make new contacts, as they fear having to be responsible for the other person. This makes it difficult to make friends in Switzerland. Contrary to the assumption that loneliness affects mainly older people, the study found that it is actually younger people who are more likely to be affected. The GDI study, conducted on behalf of the Migros-Kulturprozent, found that friendship is important for both individuals and society, as it makes people happier and healthier. However, having many friends does not necessarily mean being less lonely. The study concluded that it is important to have meaningful relationships with a few close friends, rather than many superficial ones.nnnnnn
