Girl found unconscious died in hospital

A girl who went missing on Whit Sunday in Ravoire VS and was later found unconscious died in hospital on Monday. The public prosecutor's office has launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
The cantonal police operations center was informed of the girl's disappearance at 17:54 on Sunday, according to the Valais cantonal police. She had been attending a family party at the barbecue site in Ravoire.
The police then deployed an extensive search operation in collaboration with their numerous rescue partners, involving 30 police officers, 20 specialists from regional rescue services, 20 firefighters, the air force and more than 200 volunteers. The child was finally found unconscious at around 21:20 during a search of the area in the forest below the Ravoire colony.
The girl received immediate medical treatment at the scene and was then flown by helicopter to Lausanne University Hospital CHUV in a critical condition. She died there late on Monday morning, according to the police.
