To clarify the coronavirus indiscretions, the working group of the Federal Assembly's business audit committees questioned all members of the Federal Council who were in office during the pandemic. The Federal Chancellor and Vice Chancellors also had to appear before the working group.
This was announced by its president Philippe Bauer (FDP/NE) to the media in Bern on Friday. The working group had held 14 meetings and 16 people had been interviewed, some of them twice. Senior federal employees were also invited.
Peter Marti, who had been appointed as an extraordinary public prosecutor for the so-called crypto leaks, was also heard. The working group had a legal opinion drawn up on its own information rights.
After the hearing, a draft of the report was sent to the persons concerned, who were able to comment on it.
The working group also carried out media monitoring of the 60 Federal Council transactions and meetings at the time of the investigation. It examined 500 media reports relating to these indiscretions.
