The Greens are disappointed by the Federal Council elections. A quarter of the electorate is still not represented in the national government, Green Federal Council candidate Gerhard Andrey (NR/FR) told Keystone-SDA.
"But I personally am doing very well," added Andrey. It is the end of a beautiful but also intensive phase.
The Fribourg politician did not want to answer the question of whether he would run again next time. However, the Greens emphasized in a statement that they would continue to assert their claim to representation in the Federal Council.
The Federal Council parties are clinging to their seats and preventing a long overdue update of the magic formula, the Greens wrote in a press release. Parliament had failed to include all important political forces in the government. In the event of any resignations from the Federal Council, they would continue to stand as candidates.
