Working from home and hybrid forms of work can increase productivity under certain conditions. This is the conclusion of an analysis by real estate service provider CBRE, which was published on Tuesday.
According to the study, 52% of employees and 39% of managers surveyed stated that working from home had led to more productive work after the Covid lockdowns. The reasons given were the elimination of commuting times, more flexible daily scheduling and fewer disruptions.
Scientific studies have also shown that productivity increases of up to 22% are possible if working from home is introduced carefully. The prerequisite is that the employer provides the necessary work equipment and the employees voluntarily opt for this form of work.
Negative effects possible
In Switzerland, the proportion of employees who regularly or occasionally work from home has leveled off at between 30 and 35 percent, according to the Covid study.
