Injured in head-on collision between SUV and bus in Graubünden

Six people were injured in a head-on collision between a car and a public bus on the Prättigauerstrasse near Davos GR on Sunday morning. According to the police, three of them suffered serious injuries.

A 27-year-old Belgian man was traveling with three companions in an SUV from Davos in the direction of Klosters when he crossed into the oncoming lane at the Stützbach bend in Davos-Wolfgang, the cantonal police of Graubünden reported on Sunday. On the bend, the car collided violently with the bus traveling uphill towards Davos.

It has not yet been fully clarified why the accident occurred. The road was covered in snow at the time of the accident.

The three seriously injured were reportedly passengers in the car. One of them was flown by helicopter to the cantonal hospital in Chur, while two others were taken by ambulance to the hospitals in Schiers and Chur respectively.

A fourth occupant of the car, the driver of the bus and a passenger were taken to Davos Hospital with minor injuries. The road remained closed for around four hours due to the accident.
