Inmate found dead in Ticino prison

A man in custody was found lifeless in the La Stampa prison near Lugano on Friday afternoon. Resuscitation attempts by the guards and paramedics were unsuccessful.
As the Ticino public prosecutor's office, the Ticino cantonal police and the cantonal prison authorities announced on Saturday, the cause of the man's death is now being investigated. An autopsy is planned for this purpose. There is no indication of any third party involvement, they added.
