Italian arrested for attempted murder in the Locarno region

A 36-year-old Italian man has been arrested for attempted murder following an argument in a nightclub in Muralto TI. The man seriously injured a 30-year-old Swiss man with a knife, as reported by the Ticino cantonal police on Sunday afternoon.
According to the police and the public prosecutor's office, the fight in the nightclub in Via Stazione in Muralto, which broke out for as yet unexplained reasons, occurred shortly before 3 am. The injured man had to be taken to hospital.
The perpetrator was consequently arrested by officers from the Ticino cantonal police, who had been alerted following a report. Officers from the Locarno municipal police also intervened in support.
The charge against the 36-year-old man, who lives in the Locarno region, is attempted murder. No further information will be released for the time being, the statement continued.
