Jonas Lüthy from Basel is the new President of the Young Liberals Switzerland. He succeeds Matthias Müller from Zurich, who is leaving the Young Party after four years.

The 21-year-old Lüthy was previously Vice President of the Young Liberals, as stated in the press release on Monday. He won the election at the weekend against Tobias Frehner from Bern. Melanie Racine (new) from Solothurn and Daniel Mitric (previous) from Ticino are now Vice-Presidents of the Young Finns.

The liberal camp must improve its campaigns, Lüthy demanded in the communiqué. Young people in particular need to understand again why liberal politics ultimately benefits everyone.

Matthias Müller, who has resigned, has left the Young Liberals and is now a member of the parent party. He was elected as the FDP's first substitute in the national elections in the fall of 2023 and is Vice President of the FDP Canton of Zurich.
