Lake Biel reaches high water mark

Lake Biel in the canton of Bern flooded on Wednesday night: The water level reached the high water mark of 430.35 meters above sea level, according to the canton of Bern's natural hazards portal.

Lake Thun also approached the high water mark during the night, according to the natural hazards portal. At the time of the high water in Lake Biel, the water level in Lake Thun was still 21 centimetres below the high water mark of 558.30 meters above sea level. Meanwhile, the water levels of Lakes Brienz, Neuchâtel and Murten were still more than one meter below their high water marks.
