A fourth case of animal cruelty in less than three months has occurred in Villars-sur-Glâne in the canton of Fribourg. According to the police, a newborn lamb was killed at the Domaine Notre-Dame. The police suspect that one or more unknown persons are behind the crime.

The perpetrator or perpetrators had illegally entered the sheepfold during the night from Wednesday to Thursday and then dumped the killed lamb on an access path to the main building, according to a statement from the Fribourg cantonal police. A criminal complaint has been filed for cruelty to animals, damage to property and trespassing.

This is the fourth case at the same location since the beginning of March this year. In the first three incidents, which occurred between March 8 and April 24, two suspects aged 18 and 19, who lived in the region, were identified and arrested in the course of the investigation.

Several animals had died, been injured or mistreated. According to the police, the investigations into all three cases are still ongoing. So far, no link has been established between the latest incident and the previous cases.
