Launch of two European satellites in India postponed

The planned launch of two satellites by the European Space Agency (Esa) in India has been postponed by one day due to technical problems. A problem was discovered during the launch preparation, as Esa announced on Platform X.
The launch from the Satish Dhawan Space Center on the southeast coast of India is now scheduled to take place on Thursday afternoon (local time). No details of the problem were given. The Indian space agency Isra spoke of an "anomaly".
The Esa mission, called "Proba-3", is intended to provide insights into the solar corona, which is difficult to see, and at the same time serve as preparation for future projects with multiple satellites. For the first time, the two small satellites are to fly through space in formation, separated from each other to the millimeter. "Proba-3" is a demonstration mission.
Scientists expect to be able to obtain significantly more data about the corona thanks to the technology used in the project. Proba-3" could deliver the first images of the sun's corona in March. A total of 14 Esa countries are involved in the two-year mission, including Austria and Switzerland.
