US soul singer Lionel Richie has announced a European tour entitled "Say Hello to the Hits" for 2025. As part of this tour, he will be performing at Zurich's Hallenstadion on July 12, 2025.
The organizer Takk-AB-Entertainment is promising a new production for "Say Hello to the Hits". It will be a "magical tribute" to Lionel Richie's legacy as one of the great songwriters and entertainers in music history, according to a press release issued on Monday.
The tour begins on May 31 in Belfast and ends in Madrid on August 2. It will take superstar Lionel Richie through 16 countries, with 27 performances planned. He will return to Switzerland after performing at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2023.
Richie's career spans four decades. He is known for his gentle vocals and for hits such as "Hello", "All Night Long", "Say You Say Me", "We Are The World" and "Easy". He has sold more than 125 million albums worldwide and can look back on an Oscar, a Golden Globe and four Grammys. 2022 was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Richie has also left his mark in the film business. The documentary "The Greatest Night in Pop" premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival. Richie co-produced the film. In the first week after its release, the doc landed at the top of the English film list on Netflix and was recently nominated for three Primetime Emmys.
