The Swiss Lotto jackpot was still not won in the latest draw on Wednesday. Many had hoped for the 53.2 million francs. Now the excitement is focused on the next draw on Saturday - when the new prize will be 56.5 million francs.

The Joker, Swiss Lotto's supplementary game, was won on Wednesday evening by a winner from German-speaking Switzerland or Ticino: he or she won 2.55 million francs.

The biggest Swisslos jackpot ever won was a good seven years ago: 70 million francs were up for grabs in December 2016. However, three participants had to share the jackpot. They each received 23.4 million francs.

If just one person picks the 6 correct numbers and the lucky number on Saturday, it would be a record win in the 50-year history of Swiss Lotto. The biggest win to date by a single person was achieved in 2014: On August 23, a lucky player with the numbers 3, 4, 7, 21, 22, 23 and the lucky number 2 scooped a sum of 48,598,075 francs and 75 centimes.

According to the lottery company of the same name, Swisslos is the game that has produced the most millionaires in Switzerland. 173 players have become millionaires since the game was introduced in 1970.
