The Lucerne Criminal Court sends a 24-year-old man to prison for multiple speeding offenses. The court sentenced him to a partial prison term of two years and ten months.
The defendant must serve eight months of this unconditionally, as stated in the written judgment of the Lucerne Criminal Court on Saturday. The remaining 26 months are to be served conditionally with a probationary period of three years. The defendant must also pay a fine of 800 francs and the procedural costs of 9,267 francs. The public prosecutor had originally demanded a prison sentence of 3.5 years and a fine of 1,300 francs.
On April 11, the 24-year-old had to answer to the judges of the criminal court for multiple qualified gross violations of traffic regulations by exceeding the speed limit. He also had to explain himself for driving a vehicle that was not safe to operate.
The accused had published a clip on the video platform Tiktok in which he was driving at 198 kilometers per hour on the A2 freeway in Eich LU. The video was leaked to the police by a third party. After the arrest, the police were able to find five more videos on the accused's smartphone. In these videos, he was traveling at speeds between 123 and 202 km/h.
