The Lucerne Criminal Court has found a 36-year-old man from the canton of Lucerne guilty of murder. He had taken the life of his partner in 2021 with 65 stab wounds. The verdict is not yet final.
The judges sentenced him to 20 years in prison, as was announced at the sentencing on Thursday afternoon. There was no pardon for such a brutal femicide, said the judge.
The court described the crime as "merciless". The accused had acted in an extremely brutal manner and had used immense violence.
