28 people were reported to the police after a pro-Palestinian demonstration at ETH Zurich on Tuesday a week ago - 23 of them were outsiders.

The university's media office confirmed a report by Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (SRF) on Friday that five of the persons reported were ETH members. According to ETH information, four people are registered as students at the university and one person is employed part-time.

The management of ETH Zurich filed trespassing charges against all 28 internal and external persons. The students would not have to fear any academic sanctions.

A week ago on Tuesday, several dozen people gathered in the main building of ETH Zurich for a sit-in. The university management did not tolerate the political protest.

Some of the protesters then left the hall voluntarily. However, a hard core of 28 people remained seated and were subsequently checked by the city police, turned away and reported. There were 13 women and 15 men between the ages of 17 and 78.

This week, there was also a sit-in at the main building of the University of Zurich. No charges were brought there; the demonstrators left voluntarily shortly after an ultimatum expired.
