Man arrested for attempted murder of woman in Ticino

A man has been arrested in the canton of Ticino following a domestic dispute with a woman. The public prosecutor's office has charged the man with attempted murder, among other things.
The 59-year-old Swiss national was arrested in Mendrisiotto on Tuesday, as the Ticino cantonal police announced on Saturday. He was subsequently remanded in custody.
The woman was injured in the domestic dispute and taken to hospital, the police added. The injuries were not life-threatening, according to the authorities.
The public prosecutor's office launched an investigation. It did not want to disclose any details about the case.
