On Monday, customs officers from Switzerland and France conducted a joint control in the French border area and seized 9.1 kilograms of marijuana and 710 grams of cocaine from a car with Polish license plates. The driver, a 30-year-old Belgian, was apprehended at the motorway toll station in Fontaine near Belfort, 50 kilometers southwest of Mulhouse. The French justice authorities have initiated a criminal investigation against the man. For years, France and Switzerland have been cooperating in the fields of justice, police and customs. The advantage of this cooperation is that technical and personnel resources can be combined for this type of control. The joint control resulted in the seizure of 9.1 kilograms of marijuana and 710 grams of cocaine from a car with Polish license plates. The driver, a 30-year-old Belgian, was arrested and a criminal investigation was initiated against him.
