Man dies in apartment fire in Fideris GR

A 69-year-old man died in a fire in an apartment in Fideris GR on Tuesday night. According to a statement, the fire department found the man lying motionless on the floor of the burning apartment. The cause of the fire was initially unclear.
Resuscitation of the tenant had to be aborted without success, as the Graubünden cantonal police reported on Wednesday.
Two of the man's guests were able to escape from the apartment on their own before the emergency services arrived. They were flown to the Graubünden Cantonal Hospital in Chur for an outpatient check-up.
The Graubünden cantonal police, the Schiers rescue service and the air ambulance were deployed.
