Man hit and fatally injured by train in Solothurn Gäu

A man was hit and fatally injured by a train in Egerkingen SO on Saturday morning. According to the police, they do not believe that the accident was caused by a third party.
The accident occurred between the Egerkingen train station and the highway overpass, as reported by the Solothurn cantonal police on Saturday. The police received the report shortly before 7 a.m.
All help came too late for the man. The emergency services who responded found him dead at the scene of the accident, according to the press release.
The public prosecutor and police began an investigation. According to the press release, the main hypothesis is that it was an accident.
