Migros subsidiary Denner hires former CEO of Lidl Switzerland

The Migros subsidiary Denner has found a new CEO: Torsten Friedrich, the former head of Lidl Switzerland, will take over the management of the discounter.
Torsten Friedrich will take up the position of CEO at Denner at the beginning of 2025, the discounter announced on Wednesday. Until then, Adrian Bodmer will continue to manage the business. CFO Bodmer had taken over the management of Denner ad-interim from Mario Irminger, who in turn took up the post of President of the Executive Board of the Migros Cooperative Federation (FMC) on 1 May.
The designated CEO Torsten Friedrich has many years of experience in all relevant functions of a discounter, such as purchasing, sales, logistics and category management, according to the announcement. He was head of Lidl Switzerland from 2020 before leaving the company "for personal reasons" at the end of September 2023.
