Mountaineer killed in an accident in Grindelwald

A man has died in an accident in Grindelwald in the Bernese Oberland. Emergency services were able to rescue him during a search operation on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased was reported missing a few hours earlier, as the Bernese cantonal police announced on Wednesday. According to current information, the man was on the descent from the Schreckhorn hut to Grindelwald.
The deceased was a 54-year-old Swiss national from the canton of Bern. The cantonal police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
