Multi-year prison sentences for three men in Ticino in the Adria affair

On Friday, the Ticino jury court convicted an ex-banker and two former entrepreneurs of commercial fraud and repeated dishonest management. The case became known as the Adria affair.
They are the former manager of WIR Bank in Lugano and two former entrepreneurs - a man from Italy and his son. They received sentences of six years and nine months and five years and three months in prison respectively.
The three men were accused of deceiving the governing bodies of Wir-Bank and other injured parties, causing losses of around CHF 30 million. They are also alleged to have caused the bankruptcy of several companies through fraudulent mismanagement.
