The musician Büne Huber was awarded the "Arosa Humorfüller" on the opening evening of the 33rd Arosa Humorfestival. The award is presented to outstanding stage personalities for artistic achievements.

Huber is one of the most influential figures on the Swiss music scene. His ability to express emotions in dialect is universally understandable and has made it a cultural symbol, according to the festival. His lyrics are known for their poetic quality, which often combine everyday scenes, personal experiences and profound reflections.

Huber's music and his band Patent Ochsner, founded in 1990, mixes folk, pop and chanson with traditional Swiss sounds.

"Huere geil!" said the man from Bern when he was presented with the prize. "This will be my favorite fountain pen from now on - it will have a very special place."

Previous Humorfüller winners have included Michael Mittermeier, Emil Steinberger, the cabaret duo Divertimento and, last year, Helge Schneider. The festival runs until December 15.
