No cash withdrawals and no e-banking due to disruption at Postfinance

A technical fault at the financial services provider Postfinance caused problems throughout Switzerland on Friday afternoon. Online banking (e-banking) no longer worked at all, but cash withdrawals at Postomats were also affected. Credit cards worked.

"Not all Postfinance payment methods are available at the moment. This is due to a technical fault," Postfinance spokesman Rinaldo Tibolla told the Keystone-SDA news agency on request. The online portal of "20Minuten" first reported this.

Because the Postfinance app is currently unavailable, it is also not possible to log into e-finance (e-banking). Twint is also no longer working in some cases.

"We are working to solve the problem and apologize for the inconvenience," said Postfinance. An end to the disruption was not in sight late on Friday afternoon.
