Geneva is the first Swiss city to submit a public bid to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Palexpo and the Geneva authorities have been working for several weeks to host the event in Geneva.
A bid dossier has been submitted, Palexpo announced on Sunday. With 32,000 square meters, the venue offers space for almost 15,000 spectators. In addition, the International Radio Union, the predecessor of the European Broadcasting Union founded in 1950, was founded in Geneva in 1925.
Following Nemo's victory at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC), a task force of the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG) will begin preparations on Monday to host the singing competition in Switzerland. Interested cities can apply for the financially attractive event following the call for entries.
