Unknown persons blew up an ATM in Neuchâtel on Friday night. The explosion caused considerable damage. One person who happened to be near the scene of the crime was slightly injured. The perpetrators fled without any loot.

The Neuchâtel cantonal police launched a manhunt, as they announced on Friday. The police found a vehicle in Val-de-Ruz that was presumably used by the perpetrators. The police are appealing for information from witnesses.

The Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland (OAG) was informed because the perpetrators had allegedly used explosives. The OAG is conducting the proceedings together with investigators from the Federal Police (Fedpol) and the Neuchâtel cantonal police.
