The outgoing Swiss Federal Chancellor, Walter Thurnherr, has stated that the political party affiliation of his successor is not important. What matters most is the personality and knowledge of the Swiss federal administration. The Chancellor must be able to create understanding between the Parliament and the Administration. Furthermore, the problems that need to be solved are increasingly international in nature, and so the Chancellor must be present in international forums. In conclusion, the Parliament will ultimately decide who will succeed Thurnherr.nnnnnnnnnn
