The head of the SRG streaming platform Play Suisse, Pierre-Adrian Irlé, was appointed the new CEO of the "Le Temps" media group on Monday. He will manage the group together with editor-in-chief Madeleine von Holzen. The duo will succeed Tibère Adler.
The 39-year-old Irlé will take up his post in the second quarter of 2024, as the Geneva media house "Le Temps" reported on Monday.
Irlé studied business administration and management at the Luigi Bocconi University in Milan and at the HEC (Ecole des hautes études commerciales) in Paris. And he set up his own audiovisual company, Jump Cut Production.
Irlé was also president of the professional association Fonction: Cinéma (from 2012 to 2017) and was particularly committed to the preservation and renovation of Geneva's independent cinemas (Scala, City, Nord-Sud, Cinélux).
The previous CEO, Tibère Adler, resigned from his position at the end of October. The change at the top of the Group took place at a time when the title, like the entire media industry, was struggling with financial difficulties, in particular due to falling advertising revenue.
"Le Temps" was purchased by the Geneva-based Aventinus Foundation in January 2021. Among other things, the group owns the website Heidi.news, which was launched in 2019.
