Pilatus is building a new site in Florida. The Stans-based aircraft manufacturer plans to build a sales and service center on 17 hectares at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport. No financial details of the construction are given in the press release issued on Tuesday.

The new site will initially employ over 50 people, who will be responsible for the sale, service, construction and delivery of Pilatus aircraft in the south-east of the USA. The facility is expected to be operational by mid-2026.

A further expansion will then also include the final assembly of aircraft to be delivered to North and South America. The final expansion could see up to 300 employees working at the plant, according to reports.

The USA is reportedly the aircraft manufacturer's largest market. A total of 2250 Pilatus aircraft are already in service in North and South America. In 2023, the company generated almost half of its turnover in America. According to the press release, the best-selling models are the PC-12 and PC-14.

The additional site will have no impact on existing jobs at the headquarters in Stans. Pilatus will continue to "invest large sums of money in a sustainable location for thinking, working and training in Switzerland", the statement continued.
