Poggia in Geneva Leads in Senate Elections

In Geneva, the second round of the Council of States elections has taken place. Mauro Poggia of the MCG (Mouvement citoyens genevois) was the frontrunner after the first round, with over 700 votes ahead of incumbent Lisa Mazzone (Green Party) and Carlo Sommaruga (Socialist Party). The second round of voting was necessary as no candidate had achieved the required majority of votes in the first round. The results of the second round will determine who will be elected to the Council of States.
