Police officers use firearms twice in 2023

Swiss police officers only used their firearms twice last year. In both cases, one person was killed, as the Conference of Cantonal Police Commanders announced on Wednesday.
Police use of firearms has been at a low level for years, the report continued. However, with two incidents last year, a new low has been reached. There have not been so few firearms deployments in 14 years. In 2022 and 2021, there were six firearms incidents.
