One day after the head-on collision between a Postbus and a passenger car with ten injuries in Koblenz AG, the course of the serious accident is largely clear. A 20-year-old driver crossed into the oncoming lane.

The driver collided head-on with the oncoming Postbus on the main road from Koblenz in the direction of Leuggern shortly before the Aare bridge at 1.30 pm. This was reported by the Aargau cantonal police on Wednesday. The police and the public prosecutor's office are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident. It is unclear why the driver crossed into the oncoming lane.

In the head-on collision on the Rhine border with Germany, the driver of the car was seriously injured and a child in the bus suffered moderate injuries. Two rescue helicopters flew these victims to hospital. The fire department had to free the bus driver from the Postbus. An ambulance transported the man to hospital.

According to the police, the other seven passengers on the bus fortunately only suffered minor injuries. They were taken to hospital by ambulance. Both vehicles sustained immense material damage.

After the collision, the Postbus rolled off the road and slid down the slope towards the Aare. It tipped over onto its right side. According to the police, recovering the Postbus was a challenge. The work lasted until 8 p.m.
