In the Bernese municipalities of Wynau BE and Aarwangen BE, as well as in neighboring areas in the cantons of Solothurn and Aargau, there was a brief power outage on Sunday afternoon. Telephony and data services could be disrupted, warned the canton of Bern via the federal government's Alertswiss alarm app.

The reason for the outages was damage to the power grid, according to the press release. There was no danger to the population. No special measures need to be taken either. Only lifts should not be used by the population.

When asked, Markus Ehinger from the Bernese energy and infrastructure company BKW said that 365 BKW connections and around 5000 connections from local energy suppliers were affected by the outage. One line had failed, which had affected various transformers. The outage lasted from 12.21 to 13.18.
