"It's not our job to name a person responsible": this is what PUK President Isabelle Chassot (center/FR) said in response to a journalist's question as to whether former Finance Minister Ueli Maurer was primarily to blame in connection with the CS crisis. And demands for his resignation are not appropriate for the PUK.

The accusations in the PUK report against Maurer of not passing on enough information and only doing so verbally date back to a time of many indiscretions, Chassot told the media in Bern. Confidentiality was a concern of the PUK. It must be ensured that information in the Federal Council remains confidential.

When asked whether the PUK was demanding personal consequences in one of the authorities under investigation, Chassot replied in the negative. "We are not a personnel tribunal and we do not comment on personnel decisions made by the authorities," she said.

The PUK does not consider any representatives of the authorities to be directly responsible. Calls for resignations are therefore not appropriate. Many offices bear part of the responsibility.
