Rail traffic on the line between Weinfelden TG and Kreuzlingen TG has been interrupted near Kehlhof since Thursday afternoon. There was a small landslide next to the line. As further movements of the earth mass were detected afterwards, the closure is expected to last until February 11.
It was a "mini landslide" next to the tracks, SBB informed the Keystone-SDA news agency on Thursday afternoon. The interruption was a preventative measure. At the time, it was expected that the interruption would last until 9 p.m. on Thursday evening.
But now it needs more time. During the course of the evening, there was further movement of the earth. This must now be removed, explained SBB spokesman Bas Vogler on Friday. The line is expected to remain closed until the end of operations on February 11. However, the infrastructure has not been damaged. There was also no danger at any time.
Travelers who want to use the route between Zurich and Constance via Weinfelden should take the Romanshorn route. Replacement buses will run for travelers between Berg and Weinfelden.
