There will be a change at the top of the Board of Trustees at health insurer Sanitas. Luca Stäger is to become the new Chairman, replacing Felix Gutzwiller, who held the position for nine years. The former member of the Zurich Council of States was on the Board of Trustees for almost a quarter of a century.
For his part, Stäger already knows Sanitas very well, according to a press release issued on Wednesday. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2015 and its Vice-Chairman since 2018. However, with his election (the previous day) as Chairman of the Foundation, which owns 100 percent of the Sanitas Group, he is relinquishing this mandate.
He also has in-depth knowledge of the Swiss healthcare system. According to the information provided, he has been CEO of the Tertianum Group for 14 years. In previous professional positions, he was also CEO of Spital Lachen AG, Director of Privatklinik Bethanien in Zurich and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Swiss Paraplegic Group in Nottwil.
