The Schaffhausen government intends to lodge a complaint with the SRG ombudsman's office about a report in the "Rundschau" program. Several rights were violated in the case of a beating attack against a woman in Schaffhausen shown in the program.

The "Rundschau" had stirred up uncertainty with the report. Even before the broadcast, cantonal representatives had pointed out to the journalists "the problematic nature of such reporting", a representative of the Schaffhausen People's Department wrote to Keystone-SDA on Friday, confirming a report by "tagesanzeiger.ch".

The government will complain to the SRF Ombudswoman that, despite this warning, the reports disregarded journalistic due diligence, program regulations and the fundamental rights of the authorities and parties involved in the proceedings.

The "Rundschau" reported on the ongoing proceedings into an alleged beating attack on a 43-year-old woman from Schaffhausen in a lawyer's apartment. The woman suffered serious injuries. The incident took place in 2021.
