Retour au fil d'actualité

The Swiss government is considering allowing businesses in tourist areas to open on Sundays. The revision of the ordinance 2 of the Labour Law, which regulates the exceptions to the Sunday work ban, could be sent to the consultation by the end of November. This initiative was started in January 2022 by FDP government councillor Carmen Walker-Späh, who argued that it was unfair that people in cities could not buy items on Sundays that were available in mountain resorts. Since then, several technical discussions have taken place between the authorities and the social partners. The revision of the ordinance would not automatically lift the Sunday work ban, but would provide the basis for the cantons and municipalities to discuss where tourism zones would be appropriate and how they should be designed.nnnnnnnnnn
