SP clearly opposes stop vaccination initiative

The SP Switzerland has decided to vote against the "Stop compulsory vaccination initiative". At the party meeting in Le Grand-Saconnex GE on Saturday, a clear majority of delegates voted against the proposal.
The popular initiative "For freedom and physical integrity" will be put to the people on June 9.
The initiative calls for a new paragraph to be added to the Federal Constitution stipulating that any interference with a person's physical or mental integrity requires their consent.
The initiative would not change the current situation, said Baptiste Hurni (SR/NE) at the party meeting. Already today, no one in Switzerland should be forced to be vaccinated against their will. Furthermore, it should not be forgotten that vaccination has saved thousands of lives. In addition, the initiative is too general. It would create new problems in various areas.
