Retour au fil d'actualité
The Swiss Socialist Party (SP) has decided to launch a new initiative for a public health insurance system nine years after the rejection of the previous initiative. The current system is no longer affordable for many households, with premiums taking up a large portion of average budgets and an increasing number of people needing to apply for premium reductions. The SP believes that a radical reform of the system is needed, ending the unhealthy free competition and the influence of lobbyists. The proposed initiative would require each canton to have its own public health insurance system, with tariffs negotiated with partners. The SP has also unanimously supported the Inclusion Initiative, which calls for a guarantee of equality, self-determination and participation for people with disabilities. The initiative committee has until October 25th to collect the necessary signatures.nnnnnnnnnn
