Retour au fil d'actualité

Internet criminals often target large companies. According to a study, 45% of companies with more than 250 employees have already been victims of an attack. Smaller companies seem to be less affected, with only 18% of companies with fewer than 50 employees reporting a serious attack. The reason for the correlation between company size and attack frequency is that large companies are more exposed globally and offer larger attack surfaces to cybercriminals. Additionally, there is often a lack of reporting of such incidents to the board of directors. Almost half of the companies lack a clear cyber strategy and 30% have not appointed a management to adequately manage cyber topics. However, 80% of supervisory boards have a risk policy that addresses cyber risks. Cyber attacks often have serious consequences for the operational business. The most common consequence is a business interruption, which occurred in 42% of the attacked companies. Data leaks occurred in 25% of the attacked companies, while 20% experienced malfunctions of products and services. Financial losses were only reported in 7% of the attacked companies, but the financial consequences should not be underestimated.nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
