SVP parliamentary group leader Thomas Aeschi has voiced his concern about the AHV pension shortfall. He welcomed the announced investigation by Interior Minister Elisabeth Baume-Schneider, but rejected calls from the left to repeat the vote on the women's pension age.

At the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency, National Councillor Aeschi from Zug said that it must now be clarified who bears responsibility in this matter. It is problematic when false figures are communicated before important votes. However, Aesch explicitly rejected a repeat of the vote on the women's retirement age.

The Federal Social Insurance Office (FSIO) has overestimated AHV expenditure for 2033 by around CHF 4 billion, as was revealed on Tuesday. The Swiss Federation of Trade Unions (SGB), the Greens and the SP Women questioned the vote on raising the retirement age for women in 2022 due to the incorrectly calculated AHV financial prospects. Some of them called for the vote to be repeated.
